On June 6th we gathered as a school to recognize outstanding scholarship, leadership, service, and character at the annual Honors Convocation. So many awards! So many outstanding young Mercy women!

Valedictorian and Salutatorian Finalists
Seven stellar seniors Jennifer Pisani, Carolyn Lusch, Christina Nypaver, Julie Mulloy, Robyn Paul, Meaghan Maraffino, and Bianca Jiddou were finalists for the top honors of Valedictorian and Salutatiorian for the class of 2007. Bravo to Valedictorian Julie Mulloy and Salutatorian Bianca Jiddou.

Teacher of the Year
Congratulations Mr. George Wright on being named Mercy TEACHER of the YEAR. Mr. Wright has taught Religious Studies at Mercy for 37 years and is beloved by both current students and thousands of alumnae. Students and staff cited numerous characteristics in their nominations of Mr. Wright. They spoke of him as "one who sets high standards but works doggedly to insure that students achieve and understand."

H E A R T of Mercy
For the past 13 years Mercy High School has given the Heart of Mercy award to a staff person and a student who live out our Mercy Values in their daily life. This year's Heart of Mercy Awards were bestowed upon Senior Alyson Ponto and Religious Studies teacher Peter McGrane.
