PASSPORT to FRANCE for Prospective Students

Mercy alumnae, help us spread the word. Please invite 7th and 8th grade girls to a morning of French conversation and culture at Mercy High School. The day will be hosted by the Mercy High School French Department, French Honor Society, and French Club.

Prospective Mercy girls are invited to Mercy for the ultimate French immersion experience! Girls will learn basic French vocabulary and conversation and will also learn about regional French cuisine, customs, music, and art. The day includes a typical French breakfast upon arrival, and students will have hands-on experience making their own crepes for lunch. Participants will also receive a special French souvenir. For all you former pommers out there, MVP earned a Grand Champs Trophy, was awarded the Team Unity Award, and took 3rd Place in Senior Kickline at Summer Camp! They also took 4th Place at the High Kick Competition, 3rd Place at Catholic Leagues, and they placed in Class A-Division 1 at the Regional Competition – the first time in 10 years! Mercy Varsity Pom is rising to new heights! We give thanks and credit to our current Pom Team and to our new Pom Coach this year – Mercy’s own Kelly O’Brien Breitmeyer '05. Way to go, Kelly & MVP! Mercy Volunteer Corps

Mercy Volunteer Corps, a volunteer program sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, invites you to spend a year or two serving in one of their 8 locations in the U.S. or in Guyana, South America. As graduates of Mercy High School, you have been rooted in the spirit of Mercy and know the importance of service to society. A year of service with Mercy Volunteer Corps is an opportunity for you to enter into relationship with people who are economically poor and marginalized,while living a simple and spiritual lifestyle in community. Placements are available in social services, health care, and education. Megan was working on a center for orphans in Africa, and Allison was there representing Walmart as a part of its sustainability team. Mercy's motto of Women Who Make a Difference comes to mind!

The mission of the Mercy High School Alumnae Association is to bring together Mercy students, past and present, while striving to:

  • Support and affirm the mission statement of Mercy High School, including its values of: human dignity, mercy, justice, service, and option for the poor
  • Participate in ongoing advancement efforts which provide financial support to Mercy High School
  • Support the challenges of preparing young women for critical roles in contemporary society
  • Recognize the achievements of Mercy students, past and present
  • Create settings for the exchange of ideas and information to past and present Mercy students
